Camp Okavango

Camp Okavango is a unique eco-sensitive luxury African safari camp situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. A hidden treasure in the heart of Botswana’s permanent Okavango Delta, its location within the delta assures guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience.

Camp Okavango is a true water camp, whose chalet tents are built up on stilts, hidden amongst beautiful ancient mangosteen trees and connected by wooden walkways. Surrounding the camp are the channels and reeded waterways that make up the Okavango Delta, together with all the resident wildlife, such as “Jeremiah the Hippo,” a young male who has made the watery surrounds of Camp Okavango his home.

Guests can experience safari on the water in a way that is unique to Botswana – via boats or mokoro canoe rides. Guides are well trained in navigating the water systems and throughways in and around camp. Birding is exquisite.
To ensure a peaceful and genuine safari experience, Camp Okavango accommodates just twenty-four guests. There are eleven intimate Safari suites and one Family suite consisting of two bedrooms and each with an en-suite bathroom. A spectacular new addition to Camp Okavango is the romantic Sleepout Deck (under the stars), which is raised up tree-house style, and gives nature lovers a true sense of being out in the African bush at night, in a comfortable bed with unequaled view.
